New Beginnings + Fresh Starts

I’ve been thinking so much about this past year.  I laughed and cried putting together this little slideshow from 2013.  It’s amazing how a glimpse back through pictures always reminds me that we are living much more fully than I sometimes feel day to day.  We had some wonderful adventures, milestone celebrations, many many meals together and so much more that is not seen in those photos – the bedtime struggles and sweet late night talks, the beautiful meals I made and no one ate, the small victories of learning to tie shoes or saying good bye to diapers forever.  I love capturing the small moments as much as the big.  So many memories were made in 2013.  I can only pray that my kids hold onto them as they grow and look back on their lives with joy.  My heart is full.

I wanted to share with you a few thoughts I have on 2014 to come.  I am working on a few new projects I hope come to fruition.  I hope to continue with photography classes and blog conferences to bring you the very best content I can.  I am hoping to continue to collaborate with a couple of bloggers to share more of this amazing online community I’m becoming more and more a part of.  The Blogger Spotlight series will continue to introduce you to bloggers I love to follow myself.  More recipes with simple family food in mind.  Based on all your feedback and taking a look at the most read posts from 2013, I am going to also include more of my essays on Motherhood along the way.

Personally, I have a couple resolutions for the new year.  Actually more than resolutions, they are commitments to myself and family.

– to learn how to perfect my poached egg

– to continue working on The Orange Rhino

– to do everything I can to end my perpetual 5 mins. late to everything!

– to take more day trips around this beautiful San Francisco Bay Area that we live.

I hope you will join me along the way.  Happy 2014!
