One of my truest pleasures of summer is watching my kids make up all sorts of activities for themselves. The time to play freely + warm weather + being barefoot (this part is crucial) = an imagination wide open. I’ve been reminded of this in little ways these past few weeks of summer. Yesterday a little boy in our neighborhood was hosting a Bug Stand. He was standing on the corner with his little table, sign, and his bug collection. As I told my kids about it they went running out the door to go see it like he was handing out gold! Such a simple idea. And so much JOY!
Later, I found them cutting flowers with their little kid scissors and asking for little vases. My daughter put together this one.
Bud Vases are one of my favorite ways to do flowers. It is also one of the easiest ways to create a unique and beautiful centerpiece with just a few simple flowers and so many possibilities.
In a row down the center of the table with all the same sized vases and flowers creates a crisp and clean look
They are also beautiful when all the vases are of different heights and sizes
This example uses the same sized vase, but varies the flower
These colorful glasses from Anthropologie add an incredible pop of color.
Bud vases make such a simple beautiful arrangement. Try it with other colored glasses, jars, votives, mini pitchers, or milk glass.
