a bowl full of simple

A week long resort vacation is fantastic on so many levels for our family.  We enjoyed playing on the beach and in the pool.  I loved watching my bigs share a bed together, happily for a change!  Of course what mom wouldn’t love having a week off from meal planning, shopping and preparing for a family of 5!  But guess what? When mom’s not cooking that means we are eating out – every meal.  Sounds luxurious?  It was, but let me tell you, eating out for 7 days has worked my body {not to mention my skin!} over!  Having embarked on Prescribe Nutrition’s 15 day detox New Year | New Rules  in early February I had been eating an incredibly clean dairy-free, gluten-free, sugar-free diet. I had not had one drink of alcohol in well over 30 days.  I was feeling great. Energized, light, and clear headed.  All that changed on a dime when I slowly allowed myself to add back in all the yucky stuff I’d eliminated.  And it showed! Back home now, if I wasn’t convinced then, I am now.  Back to detox my body and get balanced.

A lot of you have been asking about the detox I did.  Luckily, Katie and Megan are back again with 2 fresh programs that will get you jump started and feeling great AND they are generously offering A Bowl Full of Simple readers a special 20% off discount.  Hurry though. New Rules starts April 8th + Get Balanced starts April 15th. To register use newrules20 OR getbalanced20 depending on which program sounds right for you.  Keep me posted as I’ll be doing it with you!  Read on for more information about each.

New Rules is our 10 day foundation program. It’s an overhaul for healthy eating – long term. Why? Because life is busy, stress exists and healthy eating is challenging.  Maybe you’ve tried a million diets. Maybe you can’t shake constant bloat or fatigue. Perhaps you’re dealing with some more deep-rooted concerns and don’t know where to begin. Yeah, been there.
This is the spot to start. We work with people with concerns from weight loss to chronic health conditions. Guess what we realized? Across the board, no matter what, this protocol is where we start. 10 days to a cleaner life. And lucky you…we decided everyone should be in on this.

New Rules tells you what foods work, what foods don’t, which habits are the hardest on your body…and most importantly, what to do from here on, because life is not a diet. Life is not a cleanse. So let’s live!

Healthy eating? That’s our jam. At Prescribe Nutrition we live by the motto that there is no diet that will do what healthy eating does, plain and simple. Whole foods, movement, clean water – these are the bricks you need to build a healthy you. But what if you’re eating healthy, or what you think is healthy, and things still are off – even way off? Well those bricks aren’t holding together. We need to look at the mortar.

Get Balanced gets you on the path of cortisol balance. We can’t make progress without addressing food first – so naturally we’ll guide through 15 days of foods that specifically support your adrenal glands (+ an education on what exactly adrenal glands are). We’re also breaking this into 3 different sections addressing the 3 key physiological systems involved. Expect live classes breaking down the how and why of what’s going on inside your body, specific protocols for each step, targeted nutrient and supplement support and of course, one-on-one guidance by Megan & Katie so you can Get Balanced.

I neeeed to learn how to eat healthier when I’m on vacation or someone comes to visit us. My in-laws were in town a few weeks ago (we ate out SO MUCH when they were here) and now they’re coming in again tonight! Ah!! We eat out constantly when they are here (they love to treat us out – plus, they’re on vacation, so they like going out), but the havoc it wreaks on my system and body and skin is not fun. I need to go through a good detox.

I hear ya Rachel! Eating out is tricky. I try to stick to lean proteins (all sauces on the side) and veggies or salads (dressing on side). I would highly recommend checking out Prescribe Nutrition when you are ready. Good Luck this week!
