This book is such a beautiful feast for the senses. The photography is stunning. More than that though, Beatrice Peltre, tells a story with each recipe. She reminds us of her life in the countryside of France. Of what it feels like to cook with a parent or child. And of the incredible artistic beauty of food in their simplest form.
We had quite a bounty of Green Zebra tomatoes this season. I was thrilled to find this recipe one evening while flipping through the book to see if I could find a simple chicken recipe. This was such an easy delightful recipe. I used chicken breasts instead of legs the other night. I loved marrying fresh herbs from my garden with the Green Zebras, such a lovely compliment.
I really adore how she connects a mood with each recipe. By adding images of each ingredient as well as images of the outdoors, she sets a tone for each meal.
I will be cooking my way through La Tartine Gourmande and loving every sensorial moment.
If you’d like to join me you can order her book at La Tartine Gourmande. You can also find it {appropriately} at your local Anthropologie.
