One of my favorite parts of every dinner party is preparing the table.  I lovingly think about simple ways to make the table look special without adding too much.  In fact, my favorite tables have very few elements.  With Thanksgiving around the corner, this particularly special dinner is not any different.  Actually, autumn is the perfect time for simplicity.  By bringing in one natural element and adding it to your table, the scene is set for an evening with those you love.

First take a look in your own garden or local market.  In our garden, I found boxwood and pistachio branches.  I also have a stalk of wheat I put our every fall that would work perfectly here too.  Some other ideas you may have around the house:

I hope you’ve been inspired by the simple beauty of nature to create your own rustic yet chic table settings this holiday season.  Happy Thanksgiving.

Love your ideas in this post. Setting the table is one of my favorite parts as well! Too bad we live on opposite coasts – we could create a fabulous catering operation!

How do you do you name tags? The one specifically on the first picture?
