Isn’t this Magnolia + Eucalyptus wreath lovely?  It was just one of the many beautiful finds at the annual Filoli “Holiday Traditions.”  I am lucky enough to be able to not only attend such a wonderful tradition in an exquisite historical estate, but to do so with 2 of my favorite people is an early Christmas treat EVERY year!!

Holiday greenery.  I love the simplicity of the rosemary topiary in the rustic box.  This variety of cedar has such a beautiful green and looks lovely with my pink, white and gold Christmas decor.

Rustic box + pretty greens + red bow = simple Christmas cheer

I have some sweet white birds to decorate my tree with, but was thinking this year I’d like to buy a pre-made plain wreath to attach them too like this one I was trying out yesterday.  Maybe a little orange citrus with it? What do you think?

Inside I found these really unique moss trees and wreaths.  I could see these in a rustic modern or barn style home.

This is the main dining room.  This year’s theme is Woodland Holiday.  I thought all the rustic touches were so simple and beautiful.  While I wouldn’t be putting a deer on my dining room table for Christmas, I liked the combination of the wood + white with red.

The boutique sells oodles + oodles of ornaments and holiday decor with a variety of gift ideas too.  Everyone needs a little reminder here and there.

The display of white birds in the tree branches and vines with all the shining lights was much more dazzling in person.  I will definitely take home this simple idea of bringing the outdoors in for my holiday decor this year.

Dear Santa, I’ve been such a good momma this year, please bring me a rustic cheese board.

When I saw these “Dilly Beans” I first thought, “oh, those look just like my pickled beans.”  Then I saw that they were $15 a jar and thought “oh, those SHOULD be my beans!”  I’m sure they are deelish!

Super Simple gift idea, attach a cookie cutter to a dish towel and add a copy of your favorite holiday gingerbread or sugar cookie recipe. done.

Just in case you wanted to bring a reindeer home, they had that too!

I love our little tradition.  Lovely day as always with 2 of my best pals.  Next year I’m wearing a tacky Christmas sweater just for fun.  Only 364 days to go!

If you live in the Bay Area or plan to visit, Filoli is a beautiful spot right at the base of the Santa Cruz Mountains.  Definitely worth a trip.

Dear Domonique,

A big bouquet of thanks from Filoli volunteers and staff for sharing your thoughts and fantastic images of Filoli’s Holiday Traditions. Your enthusiasm and beautiful blog are truly appreciated. It takes over 700 volunteers, along with Filoli’s small staff, to create this event. Thanks again!!

Would you please send additional pictures of any rustic cheeseboard, preferably a large one with handles. I would be interested in prices as well including postage to Adelaide, South Australia.
