Family Room Update

When we remolded our house more than 3 years ago, I never quite finished up the family room.  Fast forward three years later, we have another kid and needs have changed.  I posted about the kids desks a while back during my Back to School Series in August.  I spent part of the summer organizing the kids school and art work and creating these cool collages I found on Etsy with images of their larger pieces of artwork.  It was so simple!  I took a photo of each piece, uploaded them to the website, a waited for the collage image to be emailed to me.  She created them in high resolution so they would print nicely in the larger 20 x 20 print.

I also had been wanting to do silhouettes of my 3 kiddos.  I kept reading online how easy it was to do.  Just not that crafty of a girl.  I got the ideas, but not the skills! (or patience)  I came across this fun colorful silhouettes also on Etsy.  Isn’t Etsy just grand?!!

It then of course took me months to get all these on the wall.  I had been really wanting to do a cool art gallery collage, but just didn’t know where to start.  I wanted to be able to add to it as well and needed it to start higher on the wall than I typically like to hang art because our piano sits on the same wall.  One day I could not stand it any more and just went for it.  As we collect special items or handmade things by the kids I’m hoping it will take on a more eclectic look.
